Today’s basis aircraft systems for electronic flight control and actuation, landing gear, on-board energy generation as well as cooling are characterised by increasing levels of automation, fault tolerance, performance optimisation and new innovative functions. The bachelor and master programs in the field of “Aircraft Systems Engineering” focus on computer-aided design and analysis methods for systems. Current research topics are, for example, innovative technologies for hybrid faulttolerant actuators, health monitoring and diagnostics, optimised tools for high lift systems and modular avionics. The institute is operating a broad spectrum of test facilities and demonstrators.
